Fire & Fragrance Bible Experience is an intensive 12-week journey through the whole Bible, tracing God’s redemptive story from Genesis to Revelation. With a focus on God’s character and nature, this school’s aim is to equip students with an understanding of scripture that translates directly to practical application in their personal walk with God as well as a life in ministry.

BIBLE X RHYTHMS

  • LIVING IN COMMUNITY

    During your Bible X, you will be living in an FF community house with other students, as well as FF Halifax staff. This will serve as one of the many ways you will be shaped and discipled throughout the FFX, as we build a community devoted to the pursuit of Jesus.

  • TRAINING

    The Bible X includes in-depth lectures each weekday designed to help you grow in your understanding of scripture and deepen your personal relationship with God. Each week focuses on a different topic, with trusted voices from around the world coming in to teach and invest in your growth.

  • PRAYER AND WORSHIP

    Bible X has a strong focus on worship and intercession. We will meet daily as a community to devote time to seeking God’s presence through prayer and worship. Our one desire is to seek Him.

  • LOCAL MINISTY

    As FF Halifax, we have faith to see every neighbourhood in the Maritimes with a thriving Christian community. During the Bible X, you will take part in our local ministries to reach the lost and the broken in our region of Canada and the city of Halifax.

What Can I Expect?

What does a day in Bible X look like?

A normal day consists of lectures, reading together in a small group setting, working on weekly assignments and application, as well as engaging with the FF Halifax Community.

What can I expect from lectures?

5 days a week, students will engage in topical lectures that coincide with the weekly reading. Lectures give an understanding of historical background, context, and literary styles, as well as highlighting the string of God’s Redemptive Plan woven through the scriptures. Topics include: Origins & Worldview, The Pentateuch, Prophets, Gospels, etc.

Students can expect to spend 10-15 hours a week on homework assignments. Assignments are designed to help students engage with and understand the Bible deeper as well as apply it to their lives. Students will learn how to lead an Inductive Bible Study, seek out Gods character and nature as seen in scripture, and be equipped to present a full overview of the redemptive story of the Bible.

What do small groups look like?

Students will be placed in small groups with whom they will read through all 66 books of the Bible for approximately 2 hours each day of the week. Small groups are a safe space for students to grow in understanding of God and Scripture, leaving space for dialogue as well as reading.

What do I need to bring?

We encourage students, if they have one, to bring a laptop to take notes on and to complete homework. While not necessary, it is highly beneficial.

Bibles will be provided for students. Feel free to bring your own - we will just ask that students use the ones we provide for small group reading.

Highlighters! Part of the Bible X methodology is to use colour coding to highlight Gods character and nature, God Redemptive Plan, and Biblical Action Principles.

Bible X has a pre-requisite requirement of having completed an FFX, DTS, or CRX.
