What is MTI?

FF Missions Training Institute is a 2-year program designed to equip future missionaries with the foundational skillsets and knowledge necessary to be fruitful in a longterm ministry calling. Our learning philosophy informs our approach of combining international practicum placements with intensive deep dives into relevant academic topics.

  • YEAR ONE - Includes Bible X, mobilization practicum across Canada, a missions leadership course, staffing experience with an FFX school, and a international outreach project.

  • YEAR TWO - Includes a track phase (mobilization or biblical training), a Canadian ministry practicum, a theological studies captstone course, and concludes with a internship placement somewhere around the world with an expert in your focus area.

  • LAUNCH - We help connect you to a missions team launching out into a least reached place, a role on a mobilization team that is rallying people around the Great Commission, or a church role.

MTI RHYTHMS

  • LIVING IN COMMUNITY

    During your MTI, you will be living in an FF community house with other students, as well as FF Halifax staff. This will serve as one of the many ways you will be shaped and discipled throughout the MTI, as we build a community devoted to the pursuit of Jesus.

  • TRAINING

    The MTI includes in-depth lecture phasse designed to help you grow in your understanding of theology, practical missionary skills, and leadership (amongst other topics). Each week focuses on a different topic, with trusted voices from around the world coming in to teach and invest in your growth.

  • PRAYER AND WORSHIP

    FF has a strong focus on worship and intercession. We will meet daily as a community to devote time to seeking God’s presence through prayer and worship. Our one desire is to seek Him.

  • LOCAL MINISTY

    As FF Halifax, we have faith to see every neighbourhood in the Maritimes with a thriving Christian community. During the MTI, you will take part in our local ministries to reach the lost and the broken in our region of Canada and the city of Halifax.

  • NATIONS

    MTI offers a hands-on cross-cultural outreach. As a community, we will be sent out in teams to the nations. MTI has a strong focus on reaching the most unreached peoples of the world with the message of the gospel.

IMPORTANT INFO

    • Arrival Day - January 6th, 2027

    • Graduation, December 19th, 2028

    • Bible X Tuition: $3,250 CAD

    • Tuition after Bible X: $700 pm (includes housing)

    • Outreach Fees: Vary per location and duration.

    • Deposit: $500 CAD

      Food, spending money, and transportation is not included in tuition.


  • You will be placed into a FF Halifax community house, where we will live together, make memories, and grow in our relationship with Jesus. Rent is included in the tuition cost.

    Housing on outreaches is generally covered by the outreach fees.

  • We encourage you to bring your car if you are able. If you do not have a car that you are able to bring then you can expect to help chip in for gas with those you frequently ride with.
